Game data
To play, choose your own Xbox disc image of Halo: Combat Evolved (.iso or
.xiso, a verified copy). The game's maps folder is copied into the app's private storage
(up to 1.8 GB), after which you can delete the disc image. Nothing is uploaded.
Only verified copies of Halo: Combat Evolved for the original Xbox can be added. You can add more than one and choose which to play; each keeps its own saved games.

Play online
Sign in or create a free account to play online. The campaign, split screen and System Link don't need one.
Your account
One free account works on every device you play on. It gives you:
- A unique gamertag that other players see
- Matchmaking with ranks from 1 to 50 in each ranked playlist
- Custom Games lobbies you can host, join and invite friends to
- A friends list, private messages and clans
- Lobby and global chat

You can change the capitalization of your gamertag (bob, Bob, BOB), but not the gamertag itself.

Matchmaking, Custom Games lobbies, invites and your friends list are all in the game: open Multiplayer, or press Y in the menus for the friends list. This page has your lobby chat, private messages and the global chat.

Co-op
The host runs the game and streams player 2's view to their friend, who doesn't need the game data. The host chooses Multiplayer > Cooperative Play for the campaign (full game only) or Split Screen, and the friend presses Jump (A) to join as player 2.

There are no public lobbies right now. Quick Match opens your own for others to join.

Your controls
Two touch layouts, including an Original Xbox controller, fully editable. Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro, MFi and Backbone controllers, or keyboard and mouse.
Co-op and local play
Split screen for up to four players, System Link, and remote co-op that streams player 2's view to a friend's device.
Play anywhere
Install it on iPhone, iPad, Android or your computer. Plays full screen and offline, at up to your screen's native resolution.
Saves and updates
Keep several copies of the game, each with its own saved games. Export and restore them anytime; updates install automatically.
Settings and data
Keyboard controls
Click an action, then press the key or mouse button you want for it (for Left click, click the waiting button again). A key already in use swaps with it; Esc cancels. Enter, Backspace and the arrow keys stay as the menus' keys.
If models or the menu's ship look stretched or broken, try A, B and C (each takes effect on the next launch) and tell us which looks right.
Custom TURN relay (optional): helps online play on networks that block direct connections, such as some mobile carriers.
